Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
Welcome to MemorialEcho. These terms explain the agreement between you and us when you use our website and create or visit a memorial. By using the service you agree to these terms, so please read them. We have written them as plainly as we can, with the same respect we bring to the memorials themselves.
Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password safe. When you create a memorial we may set up an administrator account for you and email you a temporary password; please change it and keep it private. You must give accurate information and be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country. You may close your account at any time.
Memorials and content
You keep ownership of the content you add, including photographs, stories, and tributes. By adding content you give us permission to host and display it as part of the service, and you confirm that you have the right to share it. Please only upload content you own or have permission to use, and treat every memorial with dignity. The person who creates a memorial is responsible for its accuracy and for honoring the wishes of the family.
Acceptable use
This is a place of remembrance. You agree not to post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights, and not to use the service to spam or to attempt to break its security. Contributions such as tributes are reviewed before they appear, and we may remove content or limit accounts that break these rules. We may also limit how many contributions can be made from a single account or address in a day to protect the community.
Gifts, donations, and payments
Some features, such as a lifetime plan, featured placement, and gifts, are paid. Prices are shown before you pay and are processed securely by our payment provider. Gifts and donations are voluntary and, unless required by law, are not refundable once a gift has been displayed or a featured placement has begun. A donation helps keep a memorial featured for longer, more prominent across the site, and more discoverable through search engines.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep memorials online and intend for them to last. Even so, the service is provided as is, and we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error free. We may improve, change, or occasionally pause features, and we will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, MemorialEcho is not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
